As the warning signs stack up faster than anyone with budget authority is willing to listen to, Sarah has to decide how far to push a warning that sounds, to everyone else in the room, like an excuse to miss quota. When the mountain finally answers back, it won't be with data.
OREBODY is the first book of THE DEEP VEIN, a seven-part hard science fiction series built from a real subsurface engineering career — where discovery always comes before confrontation, and the ground remembers longer than anyone standing on it.
Andi Anriansyah is a senior geologist and technical professional with more than seventeen years of experience across oil and gas, mining, and large-scale infrastructure projects in Indonesia. His career has taken him through field operations, drilling and development support, geological and geotechnical work, technical reporting, multidisciplinary coordination, and operational risk management.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Geological Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and has worked across a range of field-based environments where technical judgment, incomplete data, operational pressure, and safety considerations often intersect.
His early exposure to nickel exploration, combined with years of experience supporting drilling, field development, construction, and production operations, informs the technical realism of his fiction. He writes about the people who work beneath the surface—geologists, engineers, field crews, and decision-makers—and the difficult choices that emerge when what the data says does not fit what people expect to find.
Orebody is Book One of The Deep Vein, a new fiction series inspired by his professional experience in subsurface and field operations. It is distinct from his earlier fiction in The Abyss Universe, including Black Reservoir, Deep Bore, and Last Horizon.
