About this ebook

A two-millimeter deck displacement on an Istanbul bridge shouldn't be able to trigger a coordinated structural crisis three time zones away — but it does, and Reza Sarwono, Kenji Ashida, and a newly formed international task force have less than a week to understand a network they're only beginning to believe is real.

As the crisis widens to four cities and the original Meridian site itself begins to strain under a redistribution no model predicted, the team must convince four skeptical governments that they are facing not four separate emergencies, but one: a single, planet-spanning system that has been quietly holding pieces of the world together for over a decade, and is now, for reasons no one can yet explain, running out of room.

Fault Tolerance takes the engineering mystery from the earlier books and raises the stakes dramatically. What begins with a tiny displacement on an Istanbul bridge quickly becomes a crisis spanning multiple cities. The idea that apparently independent structures could actually be part of one planetary system is both fascinating and unsettling.

The less the characters understand, the more dangerous the situation becomes. I really liked the ticking-clock element of having less than a week to figure out what is happening. Every new city affected makes the mystery bigger, while the pressure on the task force keeps increasing.
