Somebody wants her dead – even if that means turning their city to ruins.

Kinza is destined to destroy the Anunnaki or save them – and when she arrives to find a city in ruins, her worst fears are seemingly confirmed. Caught in a bloody battle against a rebel group who claim to serve her, the citizens of this once-great city begin to believe the prophecy.

Kinza is certain she’s being framed... but even Zaid is beginning to doubt her. Racing against time to prove her innocence and win over Zaid before the citizens take justice into their own hands, Kinza must navigate a crumbling city and unravel the sinister truth... and after she falls in with a mysterious group of unlikely allies, she begins to piece together a world-shattering revelation.

Kinza holds an incredible secret – and somebody will kill to stop it from coming to light. Struggling to hold together a city on the brink of collapse, Kinza and her newfound friends must unmask her secretive enemies and find a way to control her immense powers.

Kinza has a secret, what will someone do to stop her? Mystery, suspense, betrayal and more. Who is framing her? Why is Zaid doubting her? Follow this twisted journey. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Our heroine is the subject of a prophecy that could save or doom an entire people. Can our heroine can control of her own fate, or will her enemies turn the prophecy to their advantage? This is book two of the series. It does okay as a standalone, but will be more enjoyable if read from the beginning. This is an urban fantasy story as it combined the trappings of the modern world with magic. The story is well written and easy to read, once you get past the early part and the new terminology

About the author

Lily Skyy has always had an overactive imagination. As a child, this resulted in telling tall tales that entertained her parents. They always knew she'd become a creator one day and fully supported her dream. Now, as a grown woman with a love of creating worlds, believable characters, and twisting storylines that keep readers guessing until the end, she's finally able to live her dream. Lily lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband and their dog, Raffle. She enjoys hikes-preferably to waterfalls-sleeping under the stars, spending time with family, board games, and seeing new places. She's a nature lover, which pairs nicely with her love of creating believable worlds with depth. With any luck, she plans to write full time and help others escape the everyday, mundane, boring parts of life.
