I’m disappointed. Based on the reviews, I was expecting hardcore sci-fi in the vein of Greg Egan. Instead, what I got was more of a satire—closer than traditional SF. Nevertheless, if you're a fan of Charles Stross's The Laundry Files or Doctor Who-esque stories, you will probably enjoy it.

The different tales from encountering the unknown, and often forgetting about those encounters, perfectly ties together into a bigger thrilling story. I would not repeat it if I could.

The sort of novel you want reread immediately upon finishing. Extraordinary SF(?) that's begging to be made into a cult film/ series by someone like Christopher Nolan...
