The secret to productivity isn’t discipline. It’s joy.

We have all been told that the secret to productivity is simple: work harder. The trouble is, endless hard work doesn’t just make us unhappier – it makes us less productive too.

Here, Dr Ali Abdaal draws on the latest scientific research to show that the most productive people aren’t those with the strongest discipline, or even the best habits: they’re the ones who find meaning in the tasks before them. Along the way, he sketches out a healthier, happier path to accomplishing what matters – one rooted in discovering joy in everything you do.

Amazing book, I love it so so much I would definetly recommend to anyone who likes making new habits and self-improvement. It has a few newly made approaches which I find very useful to do general things I don't like and making them more fun to do. So if you want to live a less stressful and more relaxed life, READ THIS BOOK. Thx Ali 👍

I personally like this book, as it rings close to my preferred style of working. However, I would say nothing ground breaking about it. You can tell the books were inspired by other productivity books such as Atomic Habits, 4-hour Workweek, Building A Second Brain, etc to name a few. Most of the key ideas and experiments are already covered in his Youtube channel, so the heavy price tag is not properly justified. However, personally this book is my overall theme for 2024 - making myself feel happy, making myself feel good.
