About this ebook

In the third series, MacDonald explores spiritual maturity through creation in Christ, freedom, truth, and righteousness. He examines Christ’s kingship, justice, and light, warning against obedience without love and freedom without truth. The sermons move toward a final unmasking in which all human pretenses fall away before God. This closing part presents faith as a lifelong journey toward likeness with God marked by growth, inheritance, and inner liberation.

About the author

George MacDonald was a nineteenth-century Scottish writer and theologian who explored faith, morality, and the inner life through fantasy and fairy tales. His works use symbolism and imagination to examine good and evil, spiritual growth, and redemption in ways that speak to both children and adults. Through novels such as Phantastes and Lilith, he laid important foundations for modern fantasy literature and strongly influenced writers like C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien. MacDonald’s legacy lies in his belief that storytelling can awaken moral insight and guide readers toward deeper self-understanding and compassion.
