I liked the majority of the book, though I thought that there a few parts that dragged on for too long. It's different than the other bridgerton books, in that there's a lot of focus on diversity, royalty and mental illness. This book was also less s*xual than the others. I think that mental illness was described better in this book than in the book about Eloise and Marina, where Marina's depression mostly seemed to have been a burden. Sadly, George's illness is never cured, it only get's worse, but Charlotte grows a lot as a character.

My favourite of 'the Bridgerton' world and Julia Quinns inspiration. The new addition of Shondaland influence made this behind the scenes love story so much more beautiful in its flaws. In addition, the small family of characters which make up the secret royal household was both heartbreaking and lovely. The adaptation showed a couple who were loved by each other and the few people who really knew them. You get to see 'George's voice' and his mental health struggles so much more. He rarely gets to justify or explain himself onscreen. A great addition to a beautiful show.
