The hero/super-villain of the story is an ex-army guy, who's somehow a millionaire and inventor extraordinaire. He also only likes to be referred to as 'The Master' (one of his many super-villain traits). Bored he decides to recruit some other ex-military types for an unknown venture. These are joined unexpectedly by the mysterious Captain Alden who wears a face mask to cover his disfigured continence. Part one of the plan involves high treason against the United States, part two of the plan involves a military assault on Mecca. (Goodreads)

लेखकको बारेमा

George Allan England (1877-1936) was an American author whose works spanned science fiction, adventure, and socialist literature, making him a multifaceted figure in early 20th-century American letters. Born in Nebraska, England was a Harvard graduate, which provided him with a robust intellectual foundation that he used to explore diverse genres and themes.England's most significant literary contributions lie in his pioneering science fiction works, particularly his "Darkness and Dawn" trilogy, which delves into post-apocalyptic themes and human resilience. His vivid imagination and ability to blend scientific plausibility with gripping narratives earned him a place among the early architects of modern science fiction. His stories often reflected his progressive views, advocating for social reform and critiquing the socio-economic disparities of his time.A committed socialist, England's political activism was as notable as his literary output. He ran for political office under the Socialist Party banner and used his writing to promote socialist ideals, which was both controversial and influential. His works resonated with the working class and intellectuals alike, contributing to the broader discourse on social justice and reform.England's influence extended to contemporary writers who admired his ability to weave social commentary into engaging stories. His revolutionary ideas about society and his fearless critique of capitalism inspired a generation of writers to explore similar themes in their works.Despite his relatively short life, George Allan England left an indelible mark on American literature, blending adventure, speculative fiction, and social critique in a way that continues to intrigue and inspire modern readers.
