About this ebook

“Pridnestrovie’s Future: Liberal Economy, Freedom and Security” is an independent analytical report by Roman Konoplev, first published in 2010. The work examines structural crises on a small post‑Soviet territory at the twenty‑year mark of its modern history, focusing on administrative decline, erosion of social infrastructure, demographic outflow, investment stagnation, and the long‑term effects of the inherited command‑administrative model.

The report outlines a comprehensive reform agenda: transition to an open and competitive economy, modernization of public institutions, development of civic structures, greater transparency in governance, and integration into contemporary European economic frameworks. This is an analytical study of how a small post‑Soviet society can overcome systemic stagnation and build a modern, resilient and secure model of development suited to the post‑industrial era.
