I read this when at high school in the late 50's and found it very risque then. I have read it several times since and still find it intriguing and quite exciting. Better than the "Grey" series. It can be read in a couple of hours - 288 pages!

Really hard to read. Read to the end hoping it would make sense, but disappointed. It kept going round and round in circles. If you want to read a book that will frustrate you and send you to sleep, this is the one for you.

Very good book,a littletoo much s and m for me,however, the author is a brilliant writer,and she keeps you interested ,with one twist after another. Hard to put! down .

Pauline Réage is the pseudonym of Anne Desclos, a French journalist and novelist. Story of O was first published in 1954, to much controversy and speculation as to the identity of the author. Desclos publicly admitted that she was the author of Story of O forty years after it was first published. She died in 1998.
