About this ebook
Did you know that school choice programs, like charter schools, can sometimes unintentionally exacerbate segregation patterns? Also, accountability measures tied to standardized testing may narrow the curriculum, contrary to their intended purpose.
The book adopts an academic approach, using empirical data and established research methodologies to evaluate the impact of reforms. It delves into key topics like school choice policies, accountability measures, and education funding models, contextualizing them within a historical framework of shifting educational philosophies.
Education Reform progresses through three parts: an introduction and historical overview, detailed case studies of specific reforms, and a synthesis offering alternative approaches for improvement. This book is unique because it focuses on measurable results, offering insights into which strategies genuinely lead to positive change, making it valuable for policymakers, administrators, and educators.
