Lyn use of first hand accounts really bring to life the true horror and bravery displayed and experienced by both sides during this conflict. Now, nearly a hundred years on, the first hand accounts help the reader relate and understand a period resigned to blurry black and white photos and juddering video tape. A really gripping book and her others are just as good to read.
