Tragedy sent her on a journey far from home . . .

In New York, Beth's talent with the fiddle earns her the friendship of gamblers, chancers and other rogues. Dodging trouble across America, Beth and her friends head for the Klondike river in search of gold.

But how far must Beth go to find happiness?

And will her travels lead this gypsy to a place she can ever call home?

great read, it was such an adventure! i loved the ending too. Well balanced with ups and downs. i wished it carried on to be honest! Only downside was i felt the main protagonist lacked some consistency, i know the whole point was her developing but one minute she'd be outraged by a lie the next minute she'd do something ten times worse.

I'm just discovering Lesley Pearce. This is the second one I've read so can't compare it to others. Got so interested in it that I began to read around the Gold Rush and Dawson City, only to find that some characters really existed. Excellent.

About the author

International bestselling author Lesley Pearse has lived a life as rich with incidents, setbacks and joys as any found in her novels. By the mid-sixties she was living in London, sharing flats, partying hard and married to a trumpet player in a jazz-rock band. She has also worked as a nanny and a Playboy bunny, owned a gift shop and designed and made clothes to sell to boutiques. It was only after having one son and three daughters that Lesley began to write. She published her first book at forty-nine and has not looked back since. Lesley is still a party girl.
