'A razor-sharp, intensely compassionate, subversive, sweet, electrifyingly romantic knockout of a book' – Becky Albertalli, author of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda

A month before graduating, the principal’s perfect daughter, prom queen Shara Wheeler, kisses Chloe Green – and vanishes.

On a furious hunt for answers, Chloe discovers she’s not the only one Shara kissed. There’s also Smith, Shara’s long-time sweetheart, and Rory, Shara’s bad-boy neighbour with a crush.

Thrown into an unlikely alliance, Chloe, Smith and Rory follow Shara’s trail of annoyingly cryptic clues, and Chloe starts to suspect that there might be more to this small town – and to Shara – than she thought . . .

This edition includes brand new bonus content, giving behind-the-scenes insight into Casey's creative process.

I love a good mystery. It's a story about being queer (specifically young adults) living in a religiously strict small town located in the Bible Belt and how they cope. Lots of teen angst there. I didn't quite like the FMC in the beginning. Chloe Green is obsessed with Shara Wheeler and blames her for her obsession. She basically blames everyone else for all her problems. She's quite selfish and always believes she is in the right, she's arrogant and presumptuous, and if we're to believe her, Shara Wheeler is evil and manipulative. Just your everyday toxic angsty teenager. The mystery of the disappearance of Shara Wheeler was the amusing part as she, Shara's boyfriend and Shara's next door neighbor follow the clues left by Shara. The ending was an open ended HFN which wasn't a very satisfactory ending for me but that is the way it is. Overall it wasn't bad but it was still rather mediocre.

Not your typical kind of read but interesting nonetheless. As someone who grew up going to Sunday school, I appreciated the underlying theme about religion and how it's not as black and white as people make it.
