Acerca deste libro electrónico
A witty and warm-hearted novel about a trans teen who has big plans for his future. It all begins with winning the National Debate Championships where the topic is . . . transgender rights.
“Queer issues are given center stage, evoking the lived experiences of many in a sensitive and sympathetic way.”—Kirkus Reviews
“This coming-of-age romance poignantly depicts self-discovery and finding your place in the world.”—BuzzFeed
Seventeen-year-old Finch Kelly has just one thing on his mind: the National Debate Championship. Taking home the gold won’t only be the pinnacle of his high school career; it’s the perfect way to launch his next chapter: college in Washington, DC, followed by a history-making career as the first trans congressman.
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, for starters, Finch hasn’t exactly been accepted anywhere yet, let alone received the full-ride scholarship he’ll need to attend a school like Georgetown. And for some reason his best friend won’t stop accusing him of having a crush on his very handsome—and very taken—debate partner. Worst of all, though, is the topic for nationals: transgender rights.
Finch has always been told there are two sides to every issue, but that’s a little harder to believe when you have to argue against your own humanity.
