The relationships with the disabled kids, and in particular with the nephew of the narrator's would-be lover, are nicely developed. The feelings of the narrator are also well written, but insight into the feelings of the would-be lover is somewhat lacking. The sex scenes are graphic and erotic, perhaps unnecessarily so.
