About this ebook

Stress Economics argues that economic crises are not sudden surprises, but the result of long-building social pressures that are often invisible in traditional market indicators. It highlights how structural issues—such as inequality, excess labor, elite competition, and declining trust in institutions—can accumulate beneath seemingly stable conditions. Drawing on historical patterns and Cliodynamics, the book challenges the idea that markets naturally return to equilibrium, showing instead that apparent stability can mask deeper instability. When these pressures reach a tipping point, crises appear to happen all at once, even though they have been forming over time.
