The Top Job: A Novel
О овој аудио-књизи
One of the last great magazines still standing. A coveted opening for editor in chief. Three ambitious candidates. In a thriller sure to make headlines from Marisa Kashino, bestselling author of Best Offer Wins, it’s anyone’s guess who will triumph in the race for the top job—if they survive it at all.
Celine Gray is the rising star of The Potomac, one of Washington, DC’s oldest, most prestigious publications. As its editor in chief, she would speak truth to power and double down on hard-hitting journalism. She knows she deserves this—and she’ll do whatever it takes to get it.
McCall Stewart has paid her dues for thirty years, smiling through gritted teeth as a woman in a sexist field, all the while keeping a secret that could ruin her life. After decades of painful patience, she is owed this job. Otherwise, she may finally truly crack.
Jay Jenson always gets what he wants, whether at work, with women, or with women at work. But after a messy divorce and with more than a few high-risk vices, he’s suddenly cash-strapped and desperate for a career-defining win. Maybe dangerously so.
When The Potomac’s billionaire owner invites all three candidates to his Aspen estate for a final test, tensions are sky-high. Everyone has something to prove (and hide)—and the consequences could be deadly. In The Top Job, Marisa Kashino delivers the same dark humor and sharp voice readers loved in Best Offer Wins, along with a fresh twist on the classic whodunit, and a biting satire on the state of journalism today.
