The Blight

The lorry came in the rain. No markings. No paperwork. Just a load of seed potatoes, cheap, for a village that couldn't afford to say no.

Boghennis is a small place on the west coast of Ireland, worn down by a ruined wet summer. When former Dublin firefighter Jason Kennedy comes home, he's looking for quiet. He's hoping to leave behind the fire that still wakes him at night.

Instead, he finds a village falling sick.

It starts with old Maggie: a fever, a hunger for the soil, a warmth under the skin that shouldn't be there. Within days the sickness has spread to every house. And the dead don't stay still. They gather in the parish hall, rooted to the floor, waiting and listening to something deep underground.

Fire might stop it. But it is learning.

With a handful of survivors and Elena, a scientist with a terrible secret, Jason must head north to an abandoned research facility. That's where TUBER-9 began. If anyone in Boghennis is to survive, it has to end there too.

The Blight is a gripping biological horror novel about hunger, guilt, and what grows in the dark when no one is watching.

I can also write a shorter version (about 50 words) for an online store listing or a social media post.
