My Work
À propos de ce livre audio
After giving birth, Anna is no longer sure who she is.
She and her family have moved to Stockholm, a strange city buried beneath the snow. As anxiety closes in, Anna spends her days scrolling endlessly through the news and buying clothes she cannot afford. Desperate to keep herself from disappearing altogether, she begins to read. Then she begins to write.
But how can a woman be a mother and remain herself? And what does it mean to make art when your body, your time and your life no longer seem to belong to you?
Moving restlessly between fiction, essay, poetry, memoir and letters, My Work is Olga Ravn’s exhilarating exploration of motherhood, creativity and the struggle to hold on to a self. Bold, unsettling and fiercely intelligent, it asks what we create when we create a life – and what it might cost us.
