Just For Us

A notorious small-town family scandal. A rugged Alaska firefighter who never hesitates, and the stray bee sting that forces a guarded cynic to trust a stranger.

My family became the ultimate town scandal when I was in high school. My father was the beloved local police officer everyone trusted, and for ten years he was living a lie, betraying my mother. It blew our family apart in front of the entire town. I fled for college and swore I'd never trust a man who seemed too good to be true.

I was perfectly happy staying single forever, until a sudden allergic reaction to a bee sting knocks me out cold. I wake up to my dog barking hoarse and Kincaid Greene taking care of me.

He's a local hotshot firefighter, and so devastatingly handsome he makes me forget every promise I ever made to myself. He moved across the country just because his mother asked him to. He never knew his own father, yet somehow he became exactly the kind of man other people lean on without thinking twice. Even my dog adores him within thirty seconds, and I trust her judgment more than my own heart.

I know better than to fall for a man who seems this perfect. But Kincaid doesn't even hide that he's falling for me, and for the first time in my life I have to decide if the right man is worth the risk, or if I'm brave enough to find out.
