Startline is a race countdown watch face for Wear OS with one job: tell you how many days are left until your race, whether it is a marathon, a 10K or a triathlon. The number is big, the time is small, and a thin arc round the bezel fills over the final 100 days.
SETTING YOUR RACE
Touch and hold the face, tap the pencil, and choose Race month, Race day of month and Race type. Startline counts down to the next time that date comes round, so it never goes out of date and you never have to re-enter a year. The date it is counting to is printed under the number, so you can always check it.
RACE-DAY MODE
On the day itself the small clock is replaced by a big one, with RACE DAY above it and GOOD LUCK below.
WHAT IT SHOWS
- Days to go, counted by the calendar from the watch's own date
- The race type you chose: Race, Marathon, Half marathon, 10K, 5K, Triathlon, Ride, Swim, Trail race or Ultra
- The race date, as day and month
- Current time (12/24-hour follows your watch)
- A bezel arc that fills over the final 100 days
- Two complication slots: steps and battery by default, changeable to anything your watch offers
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
Startline does not show training load, recovery or any other fitness score, and it does not track your race. A watch face is not given that data. If your watch has an app that shows steps, heart rate or a training score as a complication, you can put it in one of the two slots.
THEMES
Tarmac (white and orange on black), Daybreak (black and brick red on warm white), Podium (cream and gold on black) and Trail (mint on forest green). All text is at a contrast ratio of at least 7:1 (always-on mode is deliberately dimmer).
In always-on mode the screen keeps the time, the days to go and the race date, dimmed, to protect your AMOLED display and your battery.
GOOD TO KNOW
- The race date is a month and a day. There is no year, because watch faces cannot take typed dates. If today is the race day it shows RACE DAY; the day after, it counts to next year.
- Pick a date that exists. 29 February counts as 1 March in years that are not leap years, and a date such as 31 April rolls over into the next month.
- Screenshots show sample complication data.
Requires a round Wear OS 4 or newer watch. This is a Watch Face Format watch face: it contains no code and collects no data.
