Trifolau is a nighttime truffle hunting game in the hazel forests above Alba, amidst the Langhe hills of Piedmont. You hunt with Bricco, a curly-haired Lagotto Romagnolo dog, under a headlamp, just as true trifolau have done for generations.
Drag your finger through the misty forest to guide Bricco along a luminous trail of scent. Wind and rain wash away the scent trail, so keep his nose on the freshest drops. When he sits down and scratches, touch him and dig with vanghetto: hold, then release in the beam of light. Press too hard, the truffle will crack. Too slow, Bricco will eat it. Keep your lamp away from rival hunters Beppe and Marisa, or they will take your spot. Then take your basket to the Alba fair and sell by weight before the truffles dry out. Record each find in your logbook, night after night.
Features:
• Follow the scent trail: Guide Bricco by dragging it through fog that only your headlamp can penetrate
• Live weather for Langhe, Roero, Monferrato, and Acqualagna (Open-Meteo) determines how quickly the scent fades
• Vanghetto digging mini-game: neat dig, cracked mushrooms, or an impatient dog
• Rival trifolau with lights patrolling the forest
• Alba Fair with daily price lists, copper weight, and prices by size and grade
• Mushrooms lose weight each day you keep them, so sell them on time
• Upgrade your headlamp, train your Bricco, and sharpen your vanghetto
• Purchase permits for new mushroom areas
• Mushroom logbook, grouped by night, shareable
• Hunter's permit (tesserino) with photos from your camera or gallery
• Optional sunset reminder with the last scent measurement
Put on your boots. Fog is descending on Alba.
