I'm giving three because of the game aesthetic, but I don't get why some controls and mechanisms are not explained in the tutorial. For example, if I get locked on a corner with enemies, they just take extra turns to attack, but the game says its a single round cycle. I just get totally frustrated by it. It's a good game, but you should specify the rules as it is. I have played Card Thief from the publisher, and I loved it, and I had an expectation turned out to be disappointed.

Fantastic turn-based strategy game. Like chess, it has few enough moves to learn quickly but enough to take long to master. The free version includes all the basic mechanics. Paying adds the daily challenge (with interesting mimic enemies) and the odyssee mode (replay levels until you beat them). If you like this, the game Hoplite by Magma Fortress ticks a lot of the same boxes.

I had to uninstall this game not even a full day after getting it. Not because it's not fun, mind you, it is quite fun, the combat feels very unique, lacking any ways to deal damage of your own, and thus having to manipulate and move the enemies into environmental hazards. The issue, however, is that it's too addictive. Because it's quite easy to die early on, and even when you get further on it doesn't take that long, it makes it far too easy to simply start another run, again and again.
