I pay for access to Reuters content. But their app is horrible. I only read the headlines in my News Feed because if I click on article to read it, when I return to my news feed - either by using my phone's back button OR the back arrow within the app - it sends me back to the TOP of the feed. Ridiculous. Then I have to scroll past pages and pages of content that I've already seen to try and find where I left off. Why is this even a problem? No other app I use with a "news feed" does this.

This used to be the first news app I opened each day. The new subscription model that is designed to expand their reach obviously does not apply to readers. If it was ad supported I would continue to visit the site, but now I rarely look because all I can view are headlines. There are too many other sources of quality news to warrant spending my limited money here. I hope the new model is successful for you, but it lost me.

Hi John, if it helps, not everything in the app is behind the paywall. You can still access freely the Reuters 60/30/15 and the podcasts too in the Media section. Please let me know if you have any further comments at dan.v@tr.com

If I could enable a setting that only allowed push notifications for unlocked content, I would not be deleting this app today. It's not the subscription locked articles, because that's fair. It's that most of the push notifications lead to a demand to subscribe. "Here, you should read this article that sounds super interesting ... but now that you are here, pay me." Even a dang padlock in the push notification (no need to click. just a visual clue that it's paid content) would be acceptable.

What’s new

Podcasts: Switch a video podcast between audio and video in your playlist without losing your place.

Markets: Tap Register or Sign in on a Markets page and you stay in the app.

Big Events: Articles that are part of a major news event now show that event's icon, so you can jump to related coverage.

Plus fixes for the navigation bar ignoring your appearance setting and the widget not refreshing after you reconnect, and other bug fixes and performance improvements.
