A machined metal fidget spinner lies on dark polished concrete, seen from above at a slant: three lobes of anodised, brushed aluminium, each with an open steel bearing - outer race, the balls in their cage, inner race - and a domed cap on the centre bearing that carries the hands. Rendered in 3D, with real perspective, rounded edges, a soft shadow on the concrete and the studio's lights reflected in the metal.
Every hour, it spins
As the hour turns, the spinner whips up to full speed - the lobes smear into a blurred disc, the highlights racing round - then friction slows it down until it settles exactly where it started.
Tap to spin
Tap the watch face and give it a spin whenever you like.
Three finishes
• Gunmetal.
• Gold.
• Neon: anodised magenta running into cyan.
Hour marks your way
• Steel dots set in the concrete.
• Roman numerals.
• Arabic numerals.
Readings in the gaps
Steps, unread notifications and battery sit on dark panels in the three gaps between the lobes, the date above the top lobe. Put another app's complication in a slot and it shows that app's icon and value; set a slot to Empty and the concrete stays bare.
Easy on the battery
Nothing moves at rest but the hands; the spin plays only on a tap and on the hour. Always-on shows only the hour marks and the hands, dim on black.
