BreakFinder: Surf Tracker

BreakFinder is a surf tracker for your Wear OS watch and a surf log, forecast and spot map on your phone. The watch counts every wave, keeps an eye on your position in the lineup and taps your wrist when it matters.

★ AUTOMATIC WAVE COUNTER
Start a session and paddle out. BreakFinder detects every ride from motion and GPS — no buttons in the water — and logs wave count, top speed, ride time, distance, GPS track and heart rate. After each wave the screen flashes the ride: speed, seconds, metres. Three sensitivity modes — White Water, Green Wave and Performance — match how you surf.

★ A LIVE SCREEN YOU CAN READ WET
Clean State shows one number and nothing else. James Bond adds two live slots of your choice: the tide and its next turn, the wind and when it swings, light left before sunset, swell period, or whether the session is building or fading. The touch lock keeps a wet screen from pressing itself, and the dim always-on view saves battery for a long session.

★ IT TAPS YOUR WRIST WHEN IT MATTERS
• Last light: a tap 30 and again 15 minutes before sunset.
• Peak Drift: mark the peak once, and the watch taps twice when the current carries you 25 m off it — never while you ride a wave.
• Way back: an arrow to where you paddled out, for fog, dusk or an unfamiliar break.

★ SOLO CHECK-IN FOR SURFING ALONE
Switch it on and after 20 quiet minutes the watch asks if you're alright — turn the crown to answer, even with the touch lock on. No answer in 3 minutes and the buddies you chose get a message with your position. Only them, nobody else. Paddling counts as a sign of life, so a long lull won't set it off.

★ HOLD-DOWN TIMER AND RECOVERY BREATH
On watches with a barometer, BreakFinder times every hold-down under water and shows it when you surface — and says so when it went past the breath hold you train with BreakFinder Breath. Afterwards an optional haptic rhythm — in on one pulse, out on two — helps you breathe back down before the next set.

Every session syncs automatically: mapped on the GPS track, rated and ready to replay. Add photos and video, share a session card, and follow your form over the weeks. Sessions also reach Health Connect.

Swell, wind and tide for 9,200+ surf breaks in 140+ countries, scored on one scale so a good day looks the same everywhere. The native spot map filters by score, favourites and distance; the forecast scrubber shows how a day develops.
