Meridian Hybrid Watch Face

Meridian is a hybrid watch face that puts a big, stacked digital time and a pair of analog hands on the same black dial. The hours sit over the minutes in tall amber numerals on the left; the hands turn from a pivot set just right of centre. Around them: weather, the date, your heart rate, steps and a battery arc.

WEATHER NEEDS ONE PERMISSION, ONCE
Wear OS does not grant watch faces location access by default, so the temperature shows --° until you allow it: Settings > Security and privacy > Permission manager > Location > Watch faces > Allow while using the app. Everything else - time, date, steps, heart rate, battery - works the moment you install it.

THREE COMPLICATIONS
Press and hold the face and tap Customize to change them:
1. Top right, beside the weather: your unread notification count with its bell, out of the box. It takes short text or an icon, or it can be left empty.
2. Beside the heart rate: an app shortcut. It shows a plus sign until you pick an app; then that app's own icon sits there and a tap opens it.
3. Lower left: your steps, with the data source's own icon above the number. It takes short text or a value - a value with a goal is shown as its number, not as a gauge - or it can be left empty.
What each complication can show depends on the apps on your watch.

FIVE COLOUR THEMES
Meridian (cyan and amber), Glacier, Orchid, Ember and Mint. The hours, the hour marks and the battery arc change together.

12-HOUR OR 24-HOUR
The time format is its own setting in Customize, apart from the colour. In 12-hour mode, AM or PM sits above the hour.

ALWAYS-ON
Pure black with grey time, the date, twelve small hour marks and two thin hands. Weather, heart rate, battery and the complications switch off until you raise your wrist.

GOOD TO KNOW
The weekday and month follow your watch's language. The HEART and BATTERY labels and the Customize names are in English. Heart rate shows -- until your watch has a reading. There is no seconds hand. No phone app, no account, no ads, no subscription.

Buy it on your phone, then open the Play Store on your watch, where Meridian is waiting in your library. Press and hold your current face, swipe to Meridian and tap it.
