Private Eyes: Photo Vault Lock

Private Eyes helps you hide and protect personal photos, videos and documents from unwanted access in an encrypted vault on your Android phone. Keep family photos, personal records and other files you are entitled to store behind Android device authentication and your own pattern. No account, advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated cloud storage.

PRIVACY IS THE PURPOSE
Choose which personal files to keep private and when to export a copy. The developer does not receive your vault contents or hold a recovery key. Importing creates a protected vault copy; it does not automatically hide or delete the original from your Gallery, Downloads or another app. Manage those originals separately if you want them out of view.

YOUR FILES, ORGANIZED LOCALLY
Import selected files with Android's file picker and browse them in daily case folders. Create named albums, move selected files between albums, and mark favorites for quick access. Album names and favorite flags stay encrypted with your files. Search filenames, filter by media type, choose a sort order, zoom photos and play supported videos inside the vault. Protected files, item details and stored thumbnails use AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption.

CAPTURE DIRECTLY INTO THE VAULT
Take photos and record short, silent videos with the optional private camera. Use available focus, exposure, timer and zoom controls. Captures are saved to the vault rather than published to the Gallery.

CONTROL ACCESS AND EXPORTS
The vault locks when you leave the app, turn off the screen, or choose Lock vault. Brief permission prompts and file selection preserve your session; file selection is limited to two minutes. Production screenshots and screen recording are blocked using Android controls. When you choose to export a file, the app warns you that the exported copy will be outside vault protection. Grouped settings explain the available controls and show your current inactivity-lock setting. Optional inactivity locking adds a one- or five-minute timeout. Pattern screens keep the main action and clear/cancel controls easy to reach. JPEG exports can optionally remove embedded metadata; original export preserves the stored bytes. An optional separate alternate vault uses its own pattern; it does not provide forensic invisibility.

OPTIONAL FEEDBACK
New users can close a one-time invitation to leave an honest Google Play review. You can return to it from Settings. Choosing Google Play locks the vault before opening the store; reviews are public.

KNOW THE LIMITS BEFORE YOU START
Android 13 or later and a device screen lock are required. Import originals up to 1 GB per file, including DNG and common camera RAW files. RAW previews depend on an embedded thumbnail; originals can still be exported. Camera videos are silent and record for up to two minutes, with shorter clips when quality or available memory requires it. Supported formats and camera controls depend on your device.

There is no recovery phrase, password reset or cloud backup. Losing your pattern, device or device key can mean permanent loss. Your phone PIN or fingerprint cannot recover a forgotten vault pattern. Do not use the vault as the only copy of irreplaceable files.

Imported originals and exported files are outside vault protection. Deletion has no app trash or undo and cannot guarantee physical erasure from flash storage. Protection depends on your device and operating system; Private Eyes has not been independently certified secure.
