Guile and Zangief, round after round, on your wrist.
This animated watch face is a full bout from the 1991 arcade classic Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, fought in Zangief's factory in the USSR, on the hammer and sickle painted across the floor. Every 20 seconds the soldier and the Red Cyclone square up and fight it out with the moves you remember:
• Guile throws a Sonic Boom, and Zangief blocks it
• Zangief spins in with his Double Lariat and catches Guile
• Guile's sweep takes Zangief's legs
• Zangief's fierce punch hits Guile's guard
• Guile's second Sonic Boom finds its mark
• Guile flies in with a jumping kick to the head
• Zangief leaps in with his body splash, Guile meets him with a Flash Kick, and the big man goes down for the KO
• Guile celebrates his win
Every frame is the arcade's own sprite animation, with hit sparks, block sparks and Sonic Booms.
The HUD is the game's, redrawn in crisp pixel lettering:
• The clock on top, in the round timer's big figures, following your 12/24-hour setting
• Guile's health bar is your battery
• Zangief's health bar is the steps left to your goal, and it empties as you walk
• KO flashes in the middle once you reach your step goal
• GUILE and ZANGIEF under the bars, then the date and today's steps
The fight follows the clock, so wherever you look the bout is exactly where the time says it should be.
In always-on mode the fight goes dark and only a dim clock stays lit, gently shifting position to protect your screen.
