Micro Guard™ is a microphone blocker for Android that helps you block unwanted microphone access and take control of your privacy.
Switch microphone protection on with one tap when you do not need the mic. Review detected access attempts, check which apps have microphone permission and manage access for trusted apps.
Use Micro Guard during private conversations or between calls. This microphone disabler controls access; it does not record or amplify sound.
Microphone control that fits your day
• One-tap mic blocker: enable protection when the microphone is not needed and pause it when you want to use it.
• App permission list: review installed apps that have permission to use your microphone.
• Whitelist: set exceptions for trusted apps that need microphone access.
• Access log: review detected microphone access attempts and available event details.
• Security alerts: receive notifications about detected suspicious activity with the relevant protection features enabled.
• Home screen widget: switch microphone protection on or off without opening the app.
• Passcode protection: help prevent unwanted changes to your settings.
A microphone permission and a detected access attempt are not the same thing. An app appearing in the permission list does not by itself mean it has recorded you. Use the access log to review detected events in context.
Free core protection and optional upgrades
The basic microphone blocker is free. Deep Detective™ Lite adds analysis of suspicious microphone access patterns. Additional features depend on your edition; check the available features in the app before upgrading.
Micro Guard PRO is an optional paid upgrade. On Google Play, Deep Detective™ Live requires PRO plus a separate paid subscription. Buying PRO alone does not activate Live.
Deep Detective™ Live: anti-spyware scanner
The optional real-time spyware scanner helps detect spyware, stalkerware and suspicious activity associated with microphone access. It uses signatures and heuristic analysis to help recognise known threats and unusual patterns.
Manage the subscription through your Google Play account. A Live subscription is not required to use the basic microphone blocker.
Set up your protection
Open Micro Guard, follow the permission instructions and enable microphone protection. Review your settings before making calls, recording voice messages or using a voice assistant. Afterwards, enable blocking again when you no longer need the microphone.
Important: Android 15 and later
After restarting your phone, activate protection manually in the app or through the widget. Automatic protection after a reboot is restricted on these Android versions. Check the protection status rather than assuming that it has restarted.
Privacy and Android permissions
Micro Guard does not record speech, store audio or upload your conversations. It logs detected security events, not the content of your conversations.
Accessibility services support microphone blocking and protection on compatible Android versions. Device Administrator helps protect against unwanted disabling of protection. You can revoke these permissions in Android settings; doing so may affect the related features.
Technical data may be processed for app operation, licensing or notifications. Read the privacy policy and Google Play Data safety section for details.
Know what microphone protection covers
Micro Guard works within Android's technical limits. It cannot prevent another person or a service provider from recording a call, detect physical listening devices or secure your network connection.
