Change DNS for the network you are using.
DNS Changer by Protectstar lets you select a DNS server on Android. Use a preset provider or enter custom IPv4 and IPv6 DNS addresses, then connect with one tap. It works on Wi-Fi and mobile data without root or changes to your router.
Compare and organise with PRO
Compare DNS response times and keep useful settings ready. DNS Changer PRO adds tools for testing and managing your setup:
• DNS speed test: compare DNS response times on your current connection.
• Saved profiles: keep different settings for home Wi-Fi, mobile data, work or travel.
• Per-app control: select the apps that use DNS Changer or exclude an app when needed.
• Optional DNS logs and monitoring: review domain requests displayed in the app.
• WHOIS and map view: look up information about a domain or IP address.
These advanced tools require PRO. The speed test compares DNS responses, not your download speed or the speed of your mobile plan. Save a useful setup as a profile so that you can select it again without retyping addresses.
Your choice of DNS provider
Pick services such as Cloudflare, Google Public DNS, AdGuard DNS, Quad9 or CleanBrowsing. You can also add your own DNS server addresses. DNS Changer is a Protectstar app; the named providers supply their respective DNS services.
Use the app with Wi-Fi or mobile data, including 4G and 5G. Network conditions, location and the provider all affect DNS response times. With PRO, compare servers on the connection you actually use. A good result on your home Wi-Fi does not mean the same server will be the most responsive on mobile data.
Select filters that fit your needs
A DNS provider may offer filters for advertising and tracking domains, known phishing and malicious domains, or adult content. Choose the service and filter options that suit your device. DNS Changer lets you select the provider; that provider determines the filtering coverage.
DNS filtering does not remove every advertisement and is not antivirus protection. A family DNS filter can help restrict unsuitable domains, but it does not replace a complete parental-control solution. Check the selected provider's privacy and filtering policies before using it.
Useful when websites are slow to open
Before an app or browser reaches a service, DNS helps find its network address. If your current DNS server is slow or unreliable, another resolver may reduce that initial lookup delay. This can help pages start loading sooner, depending on your connection and the service involved.
Changing DNS does not add bandwidth to your data plan or guarantee faster downloads. For games, DNS may affect finding login and related services; it does not guarantee lower in-game ping or a lag-free game. Use the response test to compare DNS performance rather than treating it as an internet speed boost.
Keep practical settings ready
Create PRO profiles for the connections you use regularly. With PRO, exclude an app from DNS Changer to keep it on its usual network settings. If a DNS provider causes problems, try another service. Optional DNS logs and WHOIS can help you explore the domain activity shown in DNS Changer.
Connect in a few steps
Select a provider, confirm Android's VPN connection request and connect. Try your usual websites and apps. You can switch the DNS service or disconnect whenever you need to return to your normal DNS configuration.
Why Android shows a VPN request
DNS Changer uses Android VpnService to create a local VPN interface for DNS management. It does not tunnel your internet traffic through a remote VPN server or change your public IP address. Another VPN app generally cannot be active at the same time.
Put DNS selection, comparison and everyday control together with DNS Changer.
