About this app

Alpine watch face for people who read maps before they read the weather. The whole dial is a topographic chart of a mountain range: pale relief shading, slate-blue contour lines stacked around the peaks, and one small rust-red triangle marking the summit just past one o'clock.

1. The map
Contour lines run from rim to rim, tight where the slopes are steep and wide in the valleys. A thin sand-colored rim and a fine minute track close the edge.

2. The hands
Hour and minute hands are stark slate batons with a light inlay and a round hub, made for a quick read against the busy terrain. The second hand is signal red, with an arrow tip and a short counterweight, and it sweeps smoothly.

3. The hours
Twelve slate batons, longer at 12, 3, 6 and 9. No numerals and no extra data, so the mountain stays the focus.

4. Always-on
At rest the map goes black. The hour batons remain as dim grey marks, the summit triangle stays faintly visible and the hands turn light grey. The second hand is hidden.

Colors: glacier white, slate, rust red and a muted sand.

An alpine watch face with an expedition feel, for hikers, climbers and anyone who keeps a topographic map on the wall.

Made for Wear OS 4 and newer (Galaxy Watch, Pixel Watch), using the Watch Face Format.

No ads, no tracking, no phone app required.
