Viewcone - Korea CCTV Map

Was there a public CCTV camera on that street?
If you have wondered whether public cameras covered the place where something happened, start with Viewcone. It maps the public CCTV sites published in Korea's national CCTV standard dataset (Ministry of the Interior and Safety), from crime-prevention and traffic cameras to child-safety cameras near schools, and estimates what each camera can see.

Viewcone is a map of published camera locations and estimated views. It does not show live video.

WHEN IT HELPS
• Looking at the public cameras around a neighbourhood before you move to Seoul, Busan or anywhere else in Korea
• Checking whether a public camera was near the place of an accident or a lost item, and which agency manages it
• Seeing which kinds of cameras are published around your street, a school or a park

KEY FEATURES

PUBLIC CCTV MAP
• About 250,000 public CCTV sites captured in open data, across every city, county and district in Korea
• Filter by purpose: crime prevention, traffic, parking enforcement, child safety, disaster & safety, facility protection and more
• Zoom in to see each camera and its estimated view

ESTIMATED VIEWS
• Cameras with a published direction are drawn that way; unknown or rotating ones show their possible range faintly
• Areas hidden by buildings are left out
• Without published lens data, 68° and 55 m are used as reference values
• Tap a camera for its purpose, managing agency, installation date, data date and how its view was calculated

PLACE SEARCH
• Jump to a neighbourhood, road or place such as a station or school
• Results appear as you type
• Building numbers can't be searched; a query with one searches the road or neighbourhood name without it

MAP AND SEARCH WORK OFFLINE
• The map, CCTV data and place search are stored on your device
• Your GPS location is used only for the location button or sharing your current location, and leaves the device only when you share it
• What you type in search never leaves the device either
• No sign-up needed

SHARE A SPOT
• Share your location or a spot you pick as a map image and link
• The link opens the same spot in the app or on the web (cctv.devrives.com)

GOOD TO KNOW
• There is no live video, and whether a camera is recording or working can't be checked
• Only sites captured in public data are shown. The counts are not total installations or safety rankings
• Estimated views may differ from what is actually recorded
• If you need footage of yourself from an incident, you can ask the managing agency shown in the camera details
• The app shows ads
