Know which apps connect. Choose which ones can. Firewall AI is a no-root firewall for Android that gives you per-app internet control, connection logs and local AI-assisted filtering. Manage Wi-Fi, mobile data and roaming without rooting your phone.
An app can use the network even when you are not actively using it. Firewall AI helps you understand those background connections and limit internet access without taking your entire phone offline.
Manage access app by app
• Set separate permissions for Wi-Fi, mobile data and roaming.
• Keep selected apps on Wi-Fi only.
• Block internet access for tools that can work offline.
• Use Android Quick Settings to switch the firewall on or off.
Keep messaging and navigation online while restricting other apps. Before travelling, review which apps may use roaming data. When you install something new, check its connection activity and adjust access to fit its purpose.
Connection logs you can act on
Review outgoing connection attempts with the app, destination IP address, country and time, plus available host or domain details. Data counters help you identify unexpected traffic. Tags and filters help you focus on the apps you want to inspect.
A destination you do not recognize is not proof of malware. The log gives you context for deciding what to allow rather than treating every unfamiliar connection as dangerous.
Deep Detective™ and destination filtering
Deep Detective helps identify suspicious connection patterns through on-device analysis. The intrusion prevention system, or IPS, uses filter lists to help block known malicious and tracking destinations. These lists cover more than 10 million domains.
Combine your own app rules with selected filters: decide which apps can go online, then limit unwanted destinations without manually reviewing every address.
Choose your DNS settings
Select a DNS provider or configure a custom DNS server. DNS-based filtering can help block requests to listed advertising, tracking and phishing domains. It works alongside per-app internet control to reduce unwanted connections.
Filtering depends on the selected lists and the connection method. Not every ad or tracking technique can be blocked.
Optional PRO for advanced filtering
Start with the basic firewall to control app internet access. Firewall AI PRO adds enhanced filter lists and IPS PRO. Review the available features, purchase options and terms in the app before selecting an upgrade.
Android VPN permission explained
Firewall AI uses Android's VpnService to direct network traffic through a local interface for filtering on your device. It does not route that traffic through an external VPN server. It does not change your location or hide your public IP address.
Only one VPN service can be active per Android user profile. Firewall AI and another VPN cannot operate at the same time in that profile.
Local rules and logs
Firewall AI has no ads. Your rules and connection logs are stored on your device. DNS requests and features such as updates, licensing or optional online lookups may use external services. The privacy policy explains these functions. Encrypted chat and HTTPS content is not decrypted.
Start with a few useful rules
Install Firewall AI, approve the VPN request and choose internet permissions for your most-used apps. Review the log and make adjustments as needed. Blocking an app also blocks its online features; messages and syncing may pause until access is restored.
The app focuses on outgoing connection control, not file-based virus scanning or protection against incoming network attacks.
